ABOUT JASON
A builder. Always a learner.
I’m drawn to work where the answer isn’t obvious at the start. I enjoy making sense of a complicated problem, finding a practical way forward, and helping a team turn that understanding into something dependable.
The system includes the people.
My career has moved across software, data engineering, architecture, and people leadership. The common thread is helping people work well with systems that matter.
I stay technically involved in design and tradeoffs, especially reliability, governance, and operational load. I also want engineers to have room to own their work. Clear context, useful feedback, and trust make that possible.
Small, steady improvements usually serve a team better than constant heroics. I want what we build to become easier to understand and operate over time.

INDEPENDENT PRODUCT WORK
A new way to build, with the same responsibility.
At Index Forward, I’m exploring AI-native product development alongside my enterprise engineering work. I start with the product idea, user needs, architectural boundaries, and a clear definition of done.
AI agents perform substantial implementation, testing, and refinement. My work is to direct that process, examine the results, make the technical decisions, and keep checking whether the product solves the intended problem.
This changes the pace and shape of development. It also makes good requirements, sound judgment, and honest verification even more valuable.
CREATIVE PRACTICE
Room for music.
Outside software, I enjoy the full process of making music: writing, recording, producing, mixing, and refining. It is a creative outlet and a technical playground.
There is something satisfying about working through an idea, listening carefully, and making small changes until it comes together.
A FEW PRINCIPLES I RETURN TO
- Clarity beats cleverness.
- Ownership belongs in the design.
- Small improvements compound.
- Strong teams need trust and feedback.
